If you would like to get interested in making sock animals or creatures, you should look up the book "Make Your Own Stupid Sock Creatures" by John Murphy.
Also, if you Google for sock animal templates or tutorials, you'll find some
Or...try to find a nice person on dA to help you out. I'm part of a group 
and if you want to browse more, that's a good place.
Keep in mind, many are particular about their monsters/animals so don't copy them
